A2 Flyers Reading and Writing Part 1

This activity practices the ways in which we define words. Students practice matching definitions to key vocabulary before doing a sample task from the test. =

Cette activité permet de s’entraîner à définir les mots. Les élèves s’entraînent à faire correspondre les définitions au vocabulaire clé avant de réaliser un exemple de tâche du test.

Aims:
 to introduce students to Part 1 of the A2 Flyers Reading & Writing paper
 to give students practice in writing definitions and reading them in order to guess the key word. = Pour que les élèves s’exercent à rédiger des définitions et à les lire afin de deviner le mot clé.

  1. Choose a word :
    • football
    • tiger
    • bike
    • book
  2. What does the word mean?  Describe it.  Examples :
    • It is a sport with a black and white ball.
    • It is an animal with stripes.
    • It has two wheels.
    • It is full of information.
  3. Suggest additional phrases. Examples :
    • I love playing football.                           
    • A tiger is dangerous.           
    • My bike is blue.     
    • I like reading books.
